A strategy boardgame for kids

I combined various concepts and ideas from strategic board games to create a unique and engaging experience tailored for young players. Throughout the development process, I carefully refined and simplified the game mechanics to ensure accessibility while maintaining an element of strategy. My goal was to design a game that is easy to learn but still offers depth, encouraging children to think critically while having fun.

One key aspect of the game is that it does not require any reading, making it ideal for younger children. Instead, all cards and icons are designed with clear, intuitive visuals, allowing players to quickly grasp their meaning and make decisions independently. This visual approach ensures an inclusive experience, removing language barriers and making the game enjoyable for the young players.

Despite its accessibility, the game encourages strategic thinking and comparison skills. Players must evaluate different choices, anticipate outcomes, and adapt to challenges that arise during gameplay. Whether they are collecting resources, making decisions about their next move, children are continuously engaged in a fun yet thought-provoking adventure.

By blending cooperative elements with decision-making challenges, Unicorns and Rainbows offers a playful yet meaningful introduction to strategic gameplay, fostering skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability—all within a magical world of unicorns and mystical landscapes.
